For manufacturers

Private podcast hosting for manufacturers, built for people who rarely sit at a desk

Safety reminders, shift changes, and plant news land better when people can hear them. Our private podcast hosting for manufacturing gives your plants a staff-only show, and nobody outside your list can open it.

Operators, mechanics, and supervisors tune in with the podcast app they’ve already got. You pick how private it is, and you own the listener list.

Shifts and signals

Why does plant news reach the second shift late?

A memo can sit on a screen nobody on the floor walks past. A town hall happens at one hour, and half the plant is off or asleep. A supervisor relays what they’ve heard at shift start, and it’s never quite the same twice.

Most of the time the message is fine. It’s the channel that can’t keep up with a plant’s schedule. Audio fits better, because people can play it before a shift, on the drive in, or in the break room.

There’s a catch, though. A normal show on public podcast hosting is built for anyone to find. A staff show can’t be open to everyone. It’s got to reach your own crews and stay off the public apps.

Four access levels

Which access level fits which plant message?

The more private a setup is, the more steps a listener usually takes. These pairings are a first draft, and you’ll know your sites better than we do.

Message Access level Why it fits
Safety reminders and shift briefings Unique RSS feed Every listener gets a personal feed. Pull one person out, and the rest keep listening.
Plant-wide news that isn’t sensitive Private RSS feed A single shared feed that Apple, Spotify, and Amazon Music don’t list. It’s the quickest to roll out across sites.
Training that lives in your learning system Private embed player Nothing goes through RSS. The player sits on your intranet or learning platform, and episodes play there.
Apprentice or contractor courses with no portal Secure microsite Another setup with no feed. Listeners sign in to a locked show site.
Safety first: nobody should wear earbuds around moving equipment, and we wouldn’t suggest it. Your safety team decides when and where listening is fine.
Manufacturing by the numbers

How many people work in manufacturing?

One public total gives a sense of scale. It counts jobs, and it can’t say who listens to podcasts.

12.65 millionU.S. manufacturing jobs in September 2026, preliminary

Plenty of those jobs happen at a machine, on a line, or in a yard. A private feed puts your message in an app people already open, and that’s a handy place to begin.

What sits behind the account

Which controls do IT and plant managers ask about?

The same few questions come up every time, so here’s what you’ll want to know.

Access tied to your tools

Email an invite, or let people log in through Slack. When someone’s account closes, their access closes too, even for older episodes.

A show for each site or shift

Keep separate shows for plants, departments, or shifts. Each one has its own listeners and unlimited episodes.

Analytics in one place

One dashboard tracks downloads, subscribers, apps, and locations. The embed player adds finer detail.

A subscribers API

Your developers can manage listeners through the API, so access can follow your HR records.

Your look on the player

We can take our branding off the embed player, and premium microsite themes can match yours.

Real people on support

Live chat, a phone line, and a private Slack channel connect you with our team.

Episode ideas

What could you put on a plant feed?

These ideas come from our producers. They aren’t past client work, so mix them however you’d like.

Our manufacturing internal podcast page goes further on show formats.

  • A three-minute safety reminder from a supervisor who has seen the hazard.
  • A weekly shift handoff covering what changed and what the next crew needs.
  • A question box where the plant manager answers on air.
  • A line spotlight, where one team explains what it builds.
  • A welcome series that new hires can replay in week one.
Getting started

How do you launch a private plant show in four steps?

01

Create the show

Start in your dashboard and choose the privacy level that suits it.

02

Invite listeners

You’ll add people by email or through Slack, and the list can change whenever you like.

03

Upload an episode

Publish once, and every approved listener finds it in their app, your player, or your microsite.

04

Read the numbers

Check what’s landing, then shape the next episode around it.

Hosting or production

Do you make the episodes, or do we?

Hosting only

You record and edit, and we look after privacy and delivery. It suits a company that’s already got someone behind the mic.

Hosting plus production

Our producers plan, record, and edit, and hosting is part of the package. Our internal communications podcast service explains the whole setup.

Honest limits

What won’t a private feed do?

Nothing recorded is fully private, because a listener can always capture what they hear. Treat each episode like an internal document.

A hosting platform only controls who gets in. It can’t judge what’s safe to say, and it doesn’t replace safety training or required notices. Your safety, legal, and HR teams set those rules.

If your IT team has questions, bring them along. We’ll answer what we can, and we’ll tell you when we can’t.

Manufacturing FAQ

Questions we hear from manufacturers

Can people without a company email listen?

That depends on how you invite them. People join by email invite or Slack sign-in, and we’ll sort out the details for your setup on a call.

Can we cut off a former employee?

Yes. Remove listeners individually, or tie access to Slack and it ends at departure. Developers can also use the subscribers API.

Do workers need a special app?

No. With the RSS options, each person adds a private feed to a regular app, such as Apple Podcasts. Embed players and microsites don’t need an app, since they open in a browser.

Can each plant have its own show?

Yes. Teams often split plant news, training, and leadership updates into separate shows, and every show keeps its own list.

Is a private podcast secure?

It’s solid against casual snooping, but no audio is fully private. For sensitive material, pick a unique feed or a login-based option.

How is private hosting priced?

Price depends on audience size, and bigger companies get a custom plan. Book a call and we’ll quote it for your headcount.

Tell us which shifts are hardest to reach

Share your sites, your shifts, and what you’d most like people to hear. We’ll recommend a setup and show you how it works. Want a quick read first? Try the podcast readiness quiz.
