Podcast editing for newsrooms and publishers, so your editors can stay on the story
Your reporters are great with words. Audio is a different craft, and nobody’s got time to learn it between deadlines. A feature interview runs long, a weekend show needs cutting, and the edit sits in a queue.
Our podcast editing services team takes the raw file and sends back a finished episode, most often in 3 to 5 business days. You keep the editorial calls, and we’ll handle the sound.

Which publishing shows are worth handing to an editing team?
Your own audio staff covers some shows well. The rest piles up.
The conversation that runs every Friday
Editors talk through the week’s stories. We’ll even out the voices, and on Plus or Pro we’ll trim the false starts too. It comes back in time for your next release.
Long talks with authors and experts
A good guest can ramble. We cut the detours by ear and keep the moments that’ll make people stop scrolling.
Special projects from your archive
A limited run needs steady sound from part one to the last. Send us a batch, and we’ll keep it consistent.
What happens to a recording once the interview ends?

Send raw audio from the studio, the phone, or a video call. We return an episode your readers can play anywhere.
- Editing. On Plus and Pro, we take out filler, restarts, and dead air. We cut by meaning, so a pause that’s carrying weight stays.
- Mixing. A reporter in the field and a source on a laptop end up at a similar volume, and there’s less room noise.
- Mastering. We set final loudness near negative 16 LUFS, which is what podcast apps expect, then tag the file.
- Video. Shot the conversation on camera? Our video podcast production team can cut that footage into a version made for YouTube, with color work and captions.
Who decides what goes out under your masthead?
You do. Your reputation rests on what you publish.
Your editors keep
- Facts, sourcing, and corrections.
- Choices about what to cut for meaning or length.
- Legal review, when a story needs it.
- The final approval on every episode.
Our engineers take on
- Cutting, mixing, and mastering each recording.
- Acting on your editors’ notes and sending a new file.
- Logging your sound preferences for anyone on your show.
- Scheduling edit days around your own review.
Is this the right fit for breaking news?
Probably not for the daily show that goes out within hours of recording. Our episodes typically take 3 to 5 business days, so we’re a better match for weekly shows, interviews, features, and series.
Plenty of newsrooms split the load. Your audio staff takes the fast turns, and we’ll take the work with more runway.
Can you hear what an AI cut misses?
Each clip begins with an edit from an AI tool and ends with one from an engineer of ours.
Where the cut lands
Software trims at the quiet spots. An engineer waits for the end of the thought, so the breath before a key line can stay.
Which ums to keep
A few filler words sound like a person thinking. Strip every one and a candid interview doesn’t sound candid anymore.
Two voices, one conversation
The moment one speaker hands off to another is easy to miss. It’s also where a rough edit gives itself away.
How does an episode move through your review?
Five stops, with your editors stepping in wherever your own process calls for it.
| Stop | What happens | Who leads |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Send files | Add your raw audio to the Resonate app, along with notes on cuts. | Your team |
| 2. First cut | One engineer edits, mixes, and masters the full episode. | Resonate |
| 3. Editor review | An email tells you the cut’s ready. Your editors listen and comment in the app. | Your team |
| 4. Changes | We make the changes you’ve asked for and send a new file. | Resonate |
| 5. Release | Once you approve, the tagged file can head to any major app. | Your team |
How much editing does each show need?
An engineer handles the mix and master on all three. What varies is how much we cut.
Your staff already cut it
A producer’s already trimmed the episode. It just needs to sound right.
- Mixing and mastering
- No content editing or cuts
- Raw audio up to 120 minutes
- No revision rounds
Clean and finished
You’d like a finished episode with few rounds of changes.
- Editing, mixing, and mastering
- Raw audio up to 60 minutes
- A set number of edit requests
- One revision round
A team that knows your show
The show’s a priority, and you want a team who’s learned it.
- Everything in Plus
- Raw audio up to 70 minutes
- A dedicated team and account rep
- A priority spot in our production queue
- Up to three revision rounds
Your price follows how many episodes you release, how long they run, and any special asks. See the audio production tiers for detail, or try the cost calculator for a quick range.
Why trust a team over one freelance editor?
A freelancer who takes a week off can stall your schedule. A team doesn’t let the queue stop.
Those cover iZotope RX, which repairs damaged audio, plus Dolby Atmos Mixing and Pro Tools. The engineers also trained formally in recording arts, and a news organization is among the brands we’ve produced for.
Tell us about your show once. We’ll write down how you like intros, music, and name pronunciations, and everyone who works on your show can see those notes.
Can we swap editors without missing a release?
What we do first
- Review recent episodes, so we know how the show’s cut now.
- Ask what you’d like kept, and write it down for the team.
- Plan the handover around your release dates.
What you can expect
- Your audience shouldn’t hear a seam.
- An editor midway through an episode can finish it.
- Switching takes some time, and we’ll give you a real estimate.
Starting a show from scratch? Our podcast production for publishers covers planning, recording, and launch. A producer to keep the calendar moving is part of podcast management.
Questions from media and publishing teams
What editors and producers usually ask before sending a first file.
Can you edit a daily news podcast?
Not usually. Edits take about 3 to 5 business days, so weekly shows, features, and series are the better match.
Who checks facts and corrections?
Your editors do. We cut and mix what you’ve approved, and we apply the changes your reviewers send. Sourcing and legal review don’t move to us.
Do you edit interviews recorded in the field or on a call?
Yes. Our mix balances levels and reduces room noise, so a source on a laptop and a host in a studio sound like they’re sharing a room.
Can you cut video for our shows too?
Yes. We line the footage up with the finished audio, then add color and captions for a YouTube cut.
How many changes can we ask for?
Edit requests are cuts you flag at upload. Revision requests are changes after our first pass. Basic includes no revisions, Plus includes one round, and Pro includes three. Plus and Pro also set a number of edit requests.
What does media and publishing podcast editing cost?
It turns on your release rhythm, episode length, and extras. We scope it on a short call. Once episodes are final, podcast hosting can publish them.
Send us the episode your editors liked least
We’ll play it back with you, flag what we’d change, and plan edit days around your review.
