Who is Black Mountain Media, you ask?
Black Mountain was founded in 2018 by Jacob Bozarth (President of Resonate Recordings), Mark Minnery, and Dennis Cooper. Birthed out of Resonate Recordings, Black Mountain Media is designed to work as a sister company which will focus on pre-production aspects of podcasting, such as content creation and development of new shows, while Resonate continues focusing primarily on the post-production side.
The eventual partnership of Black Mountain and Tenderfoot was rooted back in 2017, when Resonate Recordings first made a name for themselves in the podcast world. It was then that Jacob began working with Payne Lindsey on Tenderfoot’s hit show Up and Vanished which has accumulated over 300 million downloads. As a result, Resonate and Tenderfoot developed a strong working relationship and Resonate has continued to provide post-production services for Tenderfoot podcasts like Sworn, Atlanta Monster, Up & Vanished Season 2 and most recently, To Live and Die in L.A.
Because of the strong bond between Resonate and Tenderfoot, when Black Mountain started production on it’s first show, Culpable, they reached out to Tenderfoot TV, and a partnership was born! Culpable will be the 2nd show on a 6 show slate between Tenderfoot TV and Cadence 13, and is set to release on June 17th.
As Jacob notes, “The professionalism that Payne, Donald and the Tenderfoot team brought to the table has been so valuable for us as we create our first podcast. While we have provided post-production services for thousands of podcasts, this is the first show we have truly created from beginning to end, and we extend our gratitude knowing we would not have been able to do it without their expertise and knowledge.”
Announcing Culpable Podcast
Culpable explores unsettled cases where the people who seem deserving of blame have somehow eluded justice. Whether it is the result of inept investigative work, flaws in the judicial system, or flat out corruption, the truth is that a failure to hold the guilty accountable for a crime they’ve committed can be as tragic as the crime itself. Culpable will investigate and shine a light on such cases with the hope of uncovering the truth, finding justice, and bringing closure to victims’ families.
The first season of Culpable covers the tragic death of 21 year old Christian Andreacchio of Meridian, Mississippi. On February 26, 2014, Christian was found dead in the upstairs bathroom of his apartment from a single gunshot wound to the head. After a 45-minute investigation, his death was ruled a suicide by the Meridian Police Department. Although MPD stands by their ruling of suicide, there is substantial evidence that points to his death being a homicide. Through the podcast writer and producer Dennis Cooper will share a compelling story about this suspicious death, the questions surrounding it, and a grieving families’ ongoing fight for justice.
Be sure to listen to the first two episodes on Monday, June 17th.
