Narrative podcasts for retail brands

Your retail brand’s story, told as a documentary‑style podcast series

A kitchen-table idea that became a store. A maker who still checks every batch by hand. A customer who’s come back every Saturday for years. Those stories rarely fit on a product page.

Our narrative podcast production shapes them into a season people want to hear to the end. That’s retail narrative podcast production: real voices, a real arc, and sound that carries it.

Why a series

Why would shoppers listen to a whole season about a store?

Because it isn’t really about the store. It’s about people: who took the risk, who makes the thing, and who keeps buying it.

A narrative show treats interviews as raw material. Narration, structure, and music then carry the listener from one scene into the next.

Good series give people a reason to press play again. There’s a question still open, a person they want to hear more from, or a turn they didn’t expect.

Shoppers forget a promo code by Tuesday. They’ll often remember the story of the person who built the brand, and they’re likely to repeat it to a friend.

Whose story is it

Which retail stories can carry a season?

Most brands have four places to look. One strong thread is enough for a short series.

Founders

How it started

The first location, the loan that almost didn’t come through, and the year it nearly ended.

Store teams

Life on the floor

The managers and associates who know your customers by name, in their own words.

Makers

Where it’s made

Suppliers, designers, and craftspeople explaining why a product looks and feels the way it does.

Customers

Why they keep coming back

Long-time shoppers whose stories say more about your brand than an ad ever could.

Can’t tell which thread is strongest? Send over what you’ve got, even if it’s messy. We’ll look for the one that opens, builds, and lands.

What a season includes

What goes into a retail narrative series?

Every season gets its own scope. You only take on the parts the story needs.

Narrative projects belong to our Custom Packages, which is also where scripting and docuseries support sit.

We build episodes from what you share with us: founder interviews, staff conversations, narration, and older audio.

  • Scripting help, shaped around your interviews and narration
  • Premium edits that strip out long pauses, repeats, and distractions
  • Music, sound effects, and transitions that set each scene
  • Restoration for noisy or damaged recordings worth saving
  • A balanced mix, mastered to the level podcast apps expect
  • An account rep and production crew assigned to your series, reachable by live chat
Who decides what

What stays with your brand, and what do we build?

Your brand keeps

  • The story itself and what it says about you
  • Consent from every employee, maker, and customer who appears
  • Product claims, reviewed by whoever owns them
  • Final approval on each episode

We build with you

  • A season plan that works like a story
  • Scripting support built on the tape you’ve gathered
  • Edits that keep every scene moving
  • Sound and music that let listeners feel the place

Your legal and brand teams make the calls on claims, permissions, and anything a customer said on tape. We don’t own those judgments. We’ll plan the production so your reviewers aren’t rushed.

Your tape, reimagined

What could your recordings become?

Treat these as conversation starters. Your tape decides what’s really there.

An old founder interview

Becomes the spine of an origin season, with the founder’s own voice opening every episode.

Store team voice memos

Turn into a series about a holiday rush, told by the people who worked it.

Conversations with makers

Follow one product from the first sketch to the shelf, told one episode per step.

Scratchy event audio

Gets restored so a moment from years ago can sit inside a brand new episode.

How it works

How does a retail series come together?

# Step What happens
01 Share the story Describe who the season follows and share whatever recordings and notes exist today
02 We shape it Editors cut every episode, then layer in music and sound design
03 Review and revise We email you as each episode is ready. Leave comments in the app, and we’ll revise
04 Release the season Publish it, then start building an audience for season two
Planning brand new interviews instead of using existing tape? Mention it early. We’ll give you an honest answer about whether that part fits our scope. The full flow lives on how things work.
Pricing

How do you price a retail series?

We quote every series after a short call. Five episodes released at once and a documentary show that runs every week need very different budgets.

How much audio exists and when you’d like to launch matter as well. So we’d rather hear the story first and price it second.

If your idea suits a conversation show better, we’ll say so. Our retail podcast production page covers founder interviews and customer shows. When the season’s out, podcast marketing can help more shoppers find it.

Retail narrative FAQ

Questions retail brands ask about narrative podcasts

What counts as a narrative podcast?

A show built around a story, with interviews woven inside it. Think of an audio documentary. There’s usually a narrator, an arc that runs across episodes, and music that keeps you listening.

Can a store or product story really fill a season?

Often, yes. If there’s a turn, a risk, or a question that takes time to answer, there’s an arc. On the call, we’ll tell you honestly whether yours has one.

Do you help write the scripts?

Yes. Scripting support comes with custom production, and our producers write from the interviews and research you provide. What the story says is always your brand’s decision.

Can we use old founder interviews or store recordings?

Usually. Narrative projects include audio restoration. Hiss, hum, and rough edges can often be cleaned up so the moment still works.

Could a series speak to our own store teams instead?

It can, though a private show for employees is a different project. Our retail internal communications podcast page explains how that works.

How much does a retail narrative series cost?

It’s scoped to your season. Narrative work falls under our Custom Packages, and we’ll send a quote after hearing the story on a quick call. Want the wider picture first? See our production services.

Let’s hear the story behind your brand

Tell us who the season would follow and what tape you already have. You’ll leave with a rough outline of the season and a sense of what producing it involves.

Thirty minutes, one producer, zero slides. The founder story is welcome.
